Los Caneros is a Mexican musical group that specializes in banda music. They were formed in 1997 and hail from the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. The band's name "Los Caneros" means "the sugar cane workers", a nod to the agricultural roots of Sinaloa.
The group's original lineup consisted of eight members, including a guitarist, trumpeter, saxophonist, and percussionist. They quickly gained popularity in the regional music scene and released their first album, "Los Caneros de Mazatlán" in 1998. Since then, they have continued to record and release music, with over 15 albums to their name.
Los Caneros are known for their high-energy performances, incorporating traditional banda instrumentation with modern sounds and rhythms. They have collaborated with other popular artists in the genre, including Banda El Recodo and Julión Álvarez.
The band has toured extensively throughout Mexico and the United States, performing at festivals and concerts across both countries. They have won multiple awards and nominations, including a Latin Grammy nomination for their 2016 album, "Infinito".
